Unlock Charity is proud partner of the Paul Gérin-Lajoie Foundation

Unlock Charity is proud to announce its involvement in the humanitarian project prenatal, perinatal, postnatal and nutritional support A3PN (Grand’Anse and Southern Haiti) in collaboration with the Paul Gérin-Lajoie Foundation, Catholic Relief Services (CRS ) and the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) of Haiti.

As part of its mission to alleviate poverty by providing food and other life-saving items to underprivileged children, Unlock Charity will help set up community vegetable gardens, establish small-scale animal husbandry and the supply of seeds and tools.

The goal of the A3PN project is to reduce the mortality rate among mothers and children in the departments of Grand’Anse and southern Haiti. He will be involved in 10 health centers in the Southern Region (small hospitals and clinics) and will work with Haitian health professionals, including doctors, nurses and community-based general health workers (CHWs). Planned interventions include the establishment of “mother clubs” led by project staff and CHVs to maximize nutrition education and child care. In order to meet these nutrition needs and help prevent diseases, the workers and these groups of mothers will mobilize to cultivate the gardens provided and constitute herds of laying hens and goats that will feed the communities (children , mothers and families), in addition to possibly allowing a source of income for these families for resale.

The contribution of Unlock Charity will allow the establishment of 40 community gardens and more than 800 small home gardens.

The project is scheduled to run from October 2017 to March 2018.

From the entire Unlock Charity team.
